Tim's Music Birthday Card

This one's belated!!  Typical Karen, I'm afraid.  I didn't have any music stamps, so I was stumped until I remembered that I had a background stamp that was sheet music!!  I chose my paper because I thought of the bottle cap that says, "The Great Escape," and that's what I think of music.  No matter where you are, you can put on some music and transport yourself.  Of course, books are high on my list for this as well, but Tim is all about the music - we're talking college level here (Music Education major)!!

So now I had the sheet music background stamp, the bottle cap, which decided my paper, and the sentiment (BELATED - it was his birthday as I was figuring this all out!!)  I stamped and laid everything out and there was a big blank spot right in the middle begging for something.  Carolyn to the rescue.  She owns the SWEET MUSIC stamp set D1523.  Yeah, I'm going to have to probably buy that now.  I really like it and I don't live that close to Carolyn!!

It really needed the sax player!!  I don't know if you can tell that it's popped up on foam tape, but it looks pretty good in person.

Bad lighting again.  This color should match the front of the card!!

I have to always make a matching envelope:

I did have a small issue with one of the stamps when it came to the envelope.  If you look at the stamp set you will see that there is a small stamp right in the middle of the three people.  It's a cute grouping of music notations - the problem is that the treble clef is at the end, and if you are a music major, I assume this might bother you (because it bothered me.)  So, on my envelope, I only inked the treble clef and stamped it to the left of my quote, where it belongs on a sheet of music, and then I inked the assorted notes and placed them on the other side.  I realize that it was an artistic decision to arrange the symbols that way, but it just didn't work for me, but hey, it was easily fixed!!

HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY, Tim!!  Hope it was Awesome!!
Love, Karen, et al.
